Under its Pradhan Manti Awas Yojana (PMAY), the Centre plans to eliminate India’s housing shortage by focusing on urban and rural areas under its housing for-all mission.
     Launched on June 1, 2015, the scheme follows a demand-driven approach under which states identify eligible beneficiaries through a demand survey, based on specific criteria.

The scheme is divided in two components. While the PMAY-Urban component of the scheme is valid till December 31, 2024, the PMAY-Gramin component is valid till March 31, 2024.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Online Form is for those who want to apply for a housing unit under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. For this they have to first the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Form.

                                                                               PMAY duration

                                                                                                The duration of the mission was initially seven years from FY 2015-16 to FY 2021-22. The PMAY scheme has now been extended up to 31 December, 2024 with all verticals except Credit Linked Subsidy

                                                                                                Scheme (CLSS) vertical to complete houses sanctioned up to 31 March 2022. The housing ministry has also stated that during the extended period, no additional houses will be sanctioned.

                                                                                                The Mission period has been extended solely with the purpose of completion of sanctioned houses and no additional houses will now be sanctioned under the PMAY(U).
                                                                                               
                                                                                               Who is not eligible for PMAY?

                                                                                                 1. Those with an annual income of more than Rs 18 lakh.

                                                                                                 2. Those who own a pucca house anywhere in the country.

                                                                                                 3.Those who have previously taken any government grant to buy a home.
